      1. Market Saturation and Overcapacity With the rapid influx of manufacturers from carpet, ceramic tile, hardwood, and laminate backgrounds, the global SPC manufacturing capacity expanded exponentially. This sudden influx led to several industry shifts: Intense Price Competition: As production supply surpassed immediate demand in key markets, price wars intensified, compressing profit margins across both primary and secondary manufacturing hubs. Quality Divergence: Rapid market entry by non-specialized manufacturers created significant variance in product quality. Issues such as core stability, locking-system durability, and wear-layer consistency began separating top-tier suppliers from low-cost alternatives. Production Relocation Expansion: To diversify supply chain risks further and bypass shifting tariff policies, regional manufacturing hubs continued expanding into Mexico, Europe, and domestic US facilities alongside Southeast Asia. 2. Emerging Trends and Technical Innovation To stay competitive in a crowded market, manufacturers are moving beyond basic SPC offerings toward higher-value innovations: Acoustic & Comfort Improvements: Integration of premium IXPE or EVA underlayment pads and flexible core layers to address acoustic insulation and underfoot comfort. Enhanced Surface Realism: Adoption of digital printing, registered-in-embossing (EIR) technology, and ultra-matte protective finishes to mimic natural wood and marble textures authentic to high-end hardwood and tile. Sustainability & Recyclability: Growing demand for PVC-free rigid core options, bio-based plasticizers, and circular recycling programs for post-industrial SPC waste. 3. Strategic Recommendations for Industry Players To build a sustainable advantage in today's SPC market, businesses should focus on three core pillars: Product Differentiation: Avoid competing solely on price. Target niche segments such as heavy-commercial grades, extra-wide/long plank formats, or high-definition visual textures. Supply Chain Resilience: Maintain flexible sourcing models that leverage localized manufacturing and regional warehousing to reduce shipping lead times and tariff exposure. Strict Quality Management: Establish rigorous standards for core density, locking mechanism strength, and thermal expansion testing to protect brand reputation against lower-quality market noise. Key Components of the SPC Extrusion Line 1. Conical Twin-Screw Extruder Role: The main heart of the line. It heats, melts, and homogenizes the high-calcium PVC blend under high pressure and shear forces. Characteristics: High Torque & Wear Resistance: Because SPC formulation contains up to 70% calcium carbonate (CaCO3), the screw and barrel are treated with bimetallic coating to resist heavy wear and abrasio and Nitriding. Conical Screw Design: Provides high plasticized efficiency at lower processing temperatures, preventing PVC degradation while ensuring high output. 2. T-Die (Extrusion Mold) Role: Spreads the molten PVC/CaCO3 composite evenly across the full width to form a uniform sheet before exiting. Many customer are use 1300mm type , 1050 mm is not the main type again. Characteristics: Hanger-Type Flow Channel: Ensures equal melt distribution, pressure, and flow speed across the entire width. Adjustable Lip: Allows precise thickness control across the board to prevent core thickness from 3-8mm. 3. Five-Roll Calender (Calendering & Laminating System) Role: Shapes the sheet thickness, embosses surface texture, and laminates the wear layer and decorative PVC film directly onto the hot core sheet in a single step (online lamination). And the EIR is also making onto the sheet too. Which is 3D type. Characteristics: Precise Temperature Control: Oil-heating or water-heating circuits independently control each roller's temperature to guarantee strong lamination bonding without surface distortion. High Rigidity: Heavy-duty rollers withstand high hydraulic/pneumatic pressures required for crisp EIR (Embossed-in-Register) or standard texture pressing. 4. Cooling Bracket & Edge Trimming Unit Role: Gradually cools down the hot SPC board using air or water circulation while trimming the uneven raw edges. Characteristics: Controlled Cooling: Prevents internal stress buildup, which is critical to stopping the final planks from warping or bending later. Industrial Fan: 3 pairs, 2 pcs/pair. It is the standard parts for the cooling system. Optional Choice: Industrial Air condition. Online Edge Recycler: Side trims are immediately crushed online and routed back to the mixer/extruder to minimize material waste. 5. Haul-Off Unit (Tractor / Puller) Role: Continuously pulls the SPC sheet through the line at a synchronized speed with the calender. Characteristics: Multi-Rubber Roller Drive: Uses soft, high-grip rubber rollers to provide steady pulling force without slipping or damaging the delicate wear layer. Frequency Speed Control: Fully synchronized with the extruder and calender speeds via PLC to maintain consistent sheet thickness. 6. Cross-Cutting Machine (Cutter) Role: Cuts the continuous SPC sheet into specified sheet lengths (e.g., 1220 mm or custom lengths). Auto Travel / Encoder Tracking: Uses digital encoder tracking so the blade moves at the exact speed of the sheet during the cut, delivering a clean 90-degree right-angle cut without stopping production. 7. Automatic Stacker Role: Collects, lifts, and neatly stacks the cut SPC core boards onto pallets for cooling and post-processing. Characteristics: Pneumatic or vacuum-suction arm mechanism that reduces labor intensity and prevents scratch damage to board surfaces. The SPC extrusion line not only can made the SPC, but also the marble sheet, and also LVT too. We will introduce the LVT floor producing by the SPC extruder. Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) Q1: Can an SPC extrusion line produce other types of flooring or sheets? Yes. In addition to standard rigid core SPC flooring, the line can be adapted to produce PVC marble sheets and luxury vinyl tiles (LVT) with appropriate configuration adjustments. Q2: What is the advantage of using a 1300 mm T-Die over a 1050 mm model? The 1300 mm T-Die allows for greater cutting layout flexibility, higher overall output, and the production of extra-wide or multi-row standard planks, making it the preferred industry standard. Q3: Why is bimetallic treatment necessary for the extruder screw and barrel? SPC formulas contain high ratios of calcium carbonate (CaCO3) up to 70%, which is highly abrasive. Bimetallic and nitriding treatments significantly prolong equipment lifespan against severe mechanical wear. Q4: How does online lamination on the five-roll calender benefit production? Online lamination bonds the wear layer, decorative film, and EIR texture directly to the hot core sheet in one continuous step, saving secondary processing costs and ensuring superior lamination strength.
